Cardboard Homes
Artist: Love Jones
Unfortunately, in our society, broken homes are common. At first, it seems as though these homes are held together by common goals and interests. Many times those dreams are lost and tossed away. In the moments of human regret such happenings are of wastefullness. Dreams are trashed and goodness is forgotten. The blessing of children becomes a burden and their innocence is all but a memory stained on the destruction of their creators.
All of the children that I used in this project were children of broken homes. Their faces projected on pieces of scrap cardboard found in the garbage; they are of waste. Cardboard a common sight found on any New York City street; We have come to familiarize ourselves with it and even use in many ways that we never thought of. We actual use it for enjoyment or even in rough times for survival.
This series of works symbolizes the beauty that lies behind the destruction and waste giving back its innocence before all was ruined, just like the children it represents.
